Browser racing splits in two. Physics and hill-climb driving uses one or two inputs, runs on anything, and mostly works on a touchscreen. Circuit and drift racing is proper 3D, wants a keyboard, and needs working graphics acceleration.

If a racing game shows you a black rectangle, that is almost always the second kind failing to get hardware acceleration rather than a broken link. On weaker hardware, stick to the physics driving games.
